EP075: Courtney LeVesque
Courtney LeVesque grew up being her dads Stow-Away Hunter. She wanted to be going out into the field and to be pending that time with her dad. When she was 6, Courtney was able to go out and experience a harvest. She was running up on a watering hole and saw a buck. She slowly backed off and her dad was able to make a successful harvest on him. She was able to be a part of the process. He made sure that she only helped on the parts that she felt comfortable.
Then at 11, Courtney made her first successful harvest on a doe. She explains that her dad was there and had she not known what was going to happen after, it may have been a lot harder on her. Courtney tells of the respect her father had for the animals and the patience that he had to work with her.
Sharing these experiences with her kids and now having them to the age of huntng, Courtney still uses the practices that she learned from her dad, allowing her boys to be a part of the hunt in every way possible and to help them understand what is going on and why.
Last year (2016) Courtney decided to take her hunting to the next level and compete in the Train To Hunt competition. She tells her story and how she became the 2016 nationals winner and how she found a stow-away of her very own! Tune in to get all her details on the events that have made her hunting journey!
